Abstract

Due to increasing size and complexity of software systems, nowadays multiple domain-specific languages (DSL), some with crosscutting concerns, are used to describe software systems. As domains grow and change, the DSLs must evolve. With code generators weaving information from different DSLs, the development of these generators becomes cumbersome and error-prone. GECO addresses this issue by introducing methods and tooling to ease generator composition and maintainability. Furthermore, it allows parts of code generators to be developed and evolved separately reducing the overall complexity of code generation. In addition GECO fosters the reuse of DSLs and their generators in different projects.
